he said that it actually IS illegal, but only dickhead cops will write you a ticket. according to him, back in the 70's, big trucks had pedals that were just metal rectangles (as opposed to padded rubber ones). Truckers that would drive with no shoes on would often cut up their feet on the pedals, or otherwise not be able to control the pedals as well (or something like that). Why still need a law, or why we even needed one in the first place, is beyond me. also, while me and my friends were eating, he overheard us talking about AIDS, and came over to our table and said: "You want to know how to keep from getting AIDS? sit down and keep your mouth shut." it took us a few minutes to figure that one out.
